What this website collects, why, and what it does not do — written to describe how the rebuilt site actually behaves rather than a generic template.
The short version
This website collects two things: anonymous traffic statistics, and whatever you type into the contact form. It does not sell advertising, does not record your screen, and does not track you across other websites.
What we collect
Traffic statistics. We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages people read — how many people visited the rooms page this week, not who they are. Your IP address is handled by Google and is not stored by us. These counts also feed MKL Hospitality Group’s combined reporting across its properties — the same anonymous figures, read at group level rather than for this property alone.
We also count clicks to call or open the booking provider, and confirmed successful enquiry submissions. These events include the site name and page path, but no form fields, visitor phone number or query parameters. A booking click does not confirm a completed reservation.
What you send us. If you use the contact form, we receive your name, email address, any phone number you give us, and your message. That reaches the inn’s inbox and is used to answer you. We do not add you to a mailing list.
Cookies
Google Analytics sets a small number of cookies to distinguish one visit from another. You can clear or block these at any time from your browser’s settings — search your browser’s help pages for “clear cookies” for up-to-date instructions, since the exact steps change from version to version.
What we do not do
- We do not sell or rent your information.
- We do not run advertising or retargeting tags.
- We do not use session recording or heatmap tools.
- We do not ask for payment details on this website. Reservations are taken by our booking provider or at the front desk.
Booking
The “Check Availability” button takes you to our booking provider’s own site. Your reservation and payment details are handled there, under that provider’s privacy policy, not ours.
Asking us about your data
Write to scarinn@aol.com or call +1 (252) 473-3979 and ask. If you have sent us a message through the contact form and want it deleted, say so and we will delete it.
